Clear Health In Chiropractic

Providing Chiropractic services for Central North East London City and Islington

Chiropractic is a comprehensive, conservative, minimally-invasive, drug-free form of health care. It is unique in it's focus on the connection between two major components:

(1) the biomechanical function of the joints of your spine, and

(2) the function of your nervous system which controls the working of every organ, tissue and cell in your body.

By seeking the underlying cause of your condition, Chiropractic care helps to both access and promote the innate healing power of your body. The result is a natural return to your own maximum level of function, efficiency and adaptability… in other words, Health!

How does it work?

Chiropractic care is based on a holistic, neurobiomechanical model rather than the mechanistic, biochemical model of traditional Western medicine.

The ancient Egyptians first recognized that the health of the spine and it's direct impact on the nervous system had a great effect on our ability to combat illness and recover from injury. If your nervous system function is decreased, then the proper working of all of your body's systems will be decreased…

It's just that simple!

What is Chiropractic?

Each segment of the spine corresponds with a specific spinal nerve that supplies information and energy to specific, corresponding organs and tissues. Our body is designed to respond to physical, chemical or emotional stress by compressing and locking itself to protect the delicate tissues of the spinal cord, spinal nerves, discs, ligaments, and tendons. When your body removes this protection when it is no longer needed, you return to normal health.

But what if your spinal segments lose the ability to self-correct? That intense, instinctive, protective response to stress will become an interference in the proper, daily function of your spine and have a direct effect on your body's ability to respond appropriately to your environment.

Often the symptoms of pain, spasm, inflammation, lack of mobility, and a decrease in coordination that you experience are the result of compensations your body makes in order to continue working as well as it can.

What can I expect from a Chiropractic visit?

A Chiropractor will use an extensive health history, physical examination, and imaging studies (such as x-ray, MRI or CT scan) as needed to evaluate the underlying cause of your condition.

You and you practitioner discuss a treatment plan that is unique to your body's situation. Your care includes specific spinal adjustments using a variety of methods, and may include exercise, bodywork and nutritional recommendations based on traditional Chiropractic principles.

What are the qualifications of a Chiropractor?

A Chiropractor is a registered, advanced -level, health care provider with a minimum of 6 years of education and training in primary care evaluation, radiology, anatomy, physiology, nutrition and trauma care.

Chiropractors also manage and coordinate concurrent treatment with massage therapists, physical therapists, acupuncturists, midwives, naturopathic and homeopathic physicians, and medical specialists.

Efficient bodies are healthy bodies. Healthy tissues do not hurt.
